Each week, we want to put a spotlight on our emerging athletes that participate in state league and local competitions across Australia. We are so proud to support clients from a wide range of sports and competitions, so let’s take a moment to highlight just a few who had stellar performances over the weekend!
It was Preliminary finals week in Queensland Football, with Palm Beach Currumbin’s, Max Spencer, taking on Morningside. Unfortunately they weren’t able to recover from a poor first quarter losing to Morningside by 19 points and being knocked out of the 2020 QAFL Season.
Meanwhile it was a different story for Broadbeach’s Ryan Gilmore, Aiden Fyfe and Kwaby Boakye as they proved too strong for Sherwood winning by 43 points and booking themselves a spot in the QAFL Grand Final.
In the QAFL Colts, Tom Hofert proved to be too big and strong for Wilston Grange kicking 3 goals. However, it was Ryan Pickering who earned best on ground honours in Broadbeach’s 4 point win against Wilston Grange. They will head into next weekends Grand Final against Palm Beach Currumbin.
While Ryan Hebron’s North Shore Bombers had the week off, Jake Bartholomaeus and Sydney University took on UNSW Eastern Suburbs Bulldogs in a Qualifying Final. Jake was named in his side’s best players but it wasn’t enough as they lost by 2 points. A double chance has kept them alive, with a do or die clash next weekend.
